NORCALSUBIES.com FULL CONTEST DETAILS
The way it works is NorCalSubies.com will award $100 (the "Prize") to the most valuable member ("Official Most Valuable Member") each month ("Monthly Contest") for 5 consecutive months ("Overall Contest Period"), beginning April 1st, 2010 ("Overall Contest Start Date") and ending August 31st, 2010 ("Overall Contest End Date").
A most valuable member is someone that is active on the site (i.e. posts relevant content frequently), someone who officially refers other members who become active ("Official Member Referrals"), and someone who officially refers northern California vendors that become active ("Official Authorized Vendor Referrals").
NorCalSubies.com will also host a grand prize contest ("Grand Prize Contest") in which one member will be awarded $250 (the "Grand Prize") for being the Most Valuable Member during the Overall Contest Period ("Official Most Valuable Member Overall").
Each monthly contest will begin on the 1st day of the month ("Monthly Contest Start Date") and end on the last day of the month ("Monthly Contest End Date") for a minimum of 30 days and a maxium of 31 days ("Monthly Contest Period"). The monthly contests ("Monthly Contests") for 2010 are defined below:
April 1st - April 31st
May 1st - May 31st
June 1st - June 31st
July 1st - July 31st
August 1st - August 31st
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Members are eligible ("Eligible Members") for a Monthly Contest if they live in Northern California ("Residency Requirement"), can prove that they owned a Subaru on the Monthly Contest End Date ("Ownership Requirement"), and create a member journal that includes an image that has been uploaded and attached to the first post in the thread. Vendors are eligible ("Eligible Members") for a Monthly Contest if their shop is located within Northern California ("Residency Requirement") and they create a classified thread advertising their products or services to NorCalSubies.com members.
Eligible Members may not win more than one Monthly Contest, but may win one Monthly Contest and the Grand Prize Contest. Members are eligible for for the Grand Prize Contest ("Grand Prize Eligibile Member") if they satisfy the Residency Requirement and can prove that they owned a Subaru on the Overall Contest End Date. This provides members who seek to purchase a Subaru an opportunity to become Eligible Members by acquiring a vehicle before the end of a given contest period.
Within 10 days of being notified via the email address listed on your NorCalSubies.com account, a Qualifying Most Valuable Member or a Qualifying Most Valuable Member Overall must prove that he or she is an Eligible Member. A Qualifying Most Valuable Member or a Qualifying Most Valuable Member Overall shall prove that he or she is an Eligible Member by creating a thread in the private forum with:
1) a link to the member's NorCalSubies.com Member Journal that will satisfy the Member Journal Requirement;
2) an original copy of his/her driver's license attached to the thread (and the driver's license has a Northern California address)that will satisfy the Residency Requirement;
3) an original copy of your Subaru's California Vehicle Registration attached to the thread (and that vehicle is registered to the Qualifying Most Valuable Member or Qualifying Most Valuable Member Overall, or registered to someone at the address on the driver's license listed under point 2 above) that will satisfying the Ownership Requirement.
Once a Qualifying Most Valuable Member or a Qualifying Most Valuable Member Overall proves that he or she is an Eligible Member to the satisfaction of the site administrator, then that person will be deemed an Official Most Valuable Member or the Official Most Valuable Member Overall, respectively. Once a member has been demmed an Official Most Valuable Member or the Official Most Valuable Member Overall, then he or she will receive their related prize.
HOW DOES AN ELIGIBLE MEMBER QUALIFY AS THE OFFICIAL MOST VALUABLE MEMBER?
An Eligible Member shall qualify as the Most Valuable Member (a "Qualifying Most Valuable Member") by earning the greatest number of points during a given contest period. Points will be awarded according to the following formula:
Eligible Members receive
1 point for each relevant post ("Relevant Post(s)") made on the site. To be a Relevant Post, a post must be legitimate, not made with the intent to boost post count or simply to bump a thread to the top of the forum, in forums outside of the
Off-Topic and
Site News, Announcements, & Feedback categories. Whether a post is relevant shall be determined by the moderator team. If a member feels that another member's post is not relevant, than that member shouldn't post in a thread, challenging the post, but should report the post by clicking the report post icon (
) that appears in the lower left hand corner of every post. This will flag the post for review by the moderator team.
Eligible Members receive
10 points for creating a classified thread, uploading and attaching an image to the first post AND embedding that image into the post using the
IMG tags.
Eligible Members receive
100 points for each Official Member Referral during the given contest period.
Eligible Members receive
150 points for
following NorCalSubies.com on Twitter and creating a thread with their twitter account name and a link to their twitter page in the
private support forum.
Eligible Members receive
250 points for answering all of the updated optional questions in
their profile.
Eligible Members receive
250 points for
becoming a fan of NorCalSubies.com on Facebook and creating a thread with their Facebook account name and a link to their twitter page in the
private support forum. This can be in the same post as the twitter account.
Eligible Members receive
300 points for each Official Vendor Referral during the given contest period.
Eligible Members receive
250 points for creating a member journal, uploading and attaching an image to the first post AND embedding that image into the post using the
IMG tags AND featuring a link to your member journal in your post just below your avatar by following (
these instructions).
If a non-existing member follows an
Eligible Member's Unique Referral Link or enters the an Eligible Member's Member Name in the Referrer field when registering for the site, completes the NorCalSubies.com registration, starts a member journal, and maintains an average of 3 posts per week during the given contest period, then the Eligible Member accrues an Official Member Referral.
If a non-existing authorized vendor follows an
Eligible Member's Unique Referral Link, completes the NorCalSubies.com registration,
requests a free 1-year vendor subscription, and maintains an average of 1 new for sale thread per week during the given contest period, then the Eligible Member accrues an Official Authorized Vendor Referral.
